Sidoarjo DPRD Learns Digital Literacy from Jakarta Diskominfotik

The Sidoarjo Regency Legislative Council (DPRD), East Java, held a comparative study at the Jakarta Communication, Informatics and Statistics Agency (Kominfotik)'s Office, Friday (3/22).

It was participated by the chairman, vice chairman III, and members of Sidoarjo DPRD and was received by Jakarta Kominfotik Agency's Public Information Division Head, Raides Aryanto.

Sidoarjo DPRD Chairman, Usman said his party, as a working partner with the district government, continues to encourage the implementation of digital literacy programs.

"We came here to learn about digital literacy," he expressed, Friday (3/22).

According to him, his party would hold a coordination meeting with the Sidoarjo Regency Kominfotik Agency to follow up on the results of comparative study activities.

"Hopefully, whatever is obtained from today's visit can later be implemented by the related regional apparatus organizations," he hoped.

He added the DPRD, which has a budgeting function, would also support the implementation of the digital literacy program in Sidoarjo.

"We will support in terms of the budget allocation needed to achieve the digital literacy program, including creating legal protection in the form of regional regulations," he added.

Jakarta Kominfotik Agency's Public Information Division Head, Raides Aryanto explained that the digital literacy had been implemented through the Jakarta SOLID or Sadar Olah Literasi Digital program with the theme Jalahoax.

"We facilitate various parties who want to socialize various policies for the benefit of the Jakarta Provincial Government and Jakarta residents. For instance, socialization about hoaxes by inviting experts and participation from resident representatives including PKK members, universities, NGOs, and community leaders which is carried out online," he explained.

He added his agency was intensively carrying out digital literacy or socialization, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Hopefully, the implementation of digital literacy in Sidoarjo can also be developed to disseminate government policies to its residents," he hoped.
